Key milestone dates include:
Planning approval : 11th Jan 2012
The Yandin Wind Farm was granted conditional planning approval by the Shire of Dandaragan on the 11th of January 2012.
Planning permit extension approval : 28th Apr 2015
Planning approval was originally granted with a four-year period in which to substantially commence construction. Wind Prospect requested an extension to the planning approval from the Shire of Dandaragan. The Yandin Wind Farm planning approval was extended by four years until the 10th of January 2020.

OEMs onsite tour : 11th Apr 2017
OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) toured the site as part of the process of bidding to supply the wind farm with wind turbines.
Install additional wind monitoring : Aug and Sep 2017
A new 110m wind monitoring mast and two new Sodar wind monitoring devices will be installed to capture wind measurements across the site. Sodar technology sends sound pulses up into the air then listens for the return echo to measure the wind speed without the need to build a permanent or large structure.
Public information day : Aug and Sep 2017
On Thursday 31st August (3pm – 7pm) and Friday 1st September (8:30am – 11:30am) at Dandaragan Community Recreation Centre, the Project Team will be in attendance to provide an update on the proposed variation to the wind farm (increasing the tip height from 152m to 180m) and to answer any queries you may have on the Yandin Wind Farm.
